The Police, in Taraba
State, have arrested and paraded a suspected ritualist who is notorious for
dismembering human body parts.
The 38-year-old suspect
identified as Jumpi Bako was nabbed after allegedly removing the eyes of a
four-year-old girl in Sunkani, the headquarters of Ardo-Kola Local Government
Area of the state.
The police said they
succeeded in rescuing the victim but she is currently in a critical condition
and taken to the hospital for medical attention.
Exhibits recovered from
the suspect include two AK-47 riffles believed to have been used to launch
mayhem on innocent citizens of the state.
Addressing journalists,
the Commissioner of Police in the state, Alkasim Sanusi, said that the command
also arrested two suspected kidnappers who abducted the former Chief of staff
to ex-governor Danbaba Suntai, Alhaji Aminu Jika.
The police boss
explained that the arrest was made possible as a result of the collaborative
efforts of local hunters and vigilante groups in tracking down the ransom paid
by the victim.
Also paraded is one
Ibrahim Jafaru who is a gang leader of car theft syndicates terrorising
Jalingo, the state capital.
According to CP Sanusi,
investigation reveals that the suspect has successfully stolen 35 vehicles
since January 2018 in Jalingo, Taraba State capital, and disposed the same to
