Late Senator Ben Uwajumogu
The National Assembly today, Thursday, December 19, 2019, adjourned
plenary to honour one of its members, Senator Ben Uwajumogu, who died yesterday
morning in his Apo residence in Abuja.
A former Speaker of Io State House of Assembly, Uwajumogu represented
Imo North senatorial district was aged 51.
A minute of silence was observed for Uwajumogu, who slumped while having
his bath and was pronounced dead upon being rushed to a private hospital in the
neighbourhood.
Prayers were also said for him in both chambers of the National Assembly
– the Senate and the House of Representatives.
Plenary was thereafter
adjourned to tomorrow and it will be the last sitting for the year.
