Alao-Akala pledges masses-friendly programmes if elected Oyo Governor in 2015

One time governor of Oyo State and current gubernatorial standard-bearer of the Labour Party (LP), Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, has promised that, if given another opportunity to govern the state, his government would focus on people-oriented and masses-friendly programmes.

Alao-Akala, who stated this recently while speaking with journalists at his Bodija residence in Ibadan, added that such style of governance characterised his first term in office as the governor of the state, and that he is ready to do better, if re-elected.

His words: “Prioritising the needs of the people based on their demands had always been my style of governance. I am a grassroots man who so much love putting smiles on the faces of the people and will never relent in doing that. It has been my nature to live and let others live. Labour Party will bring the desired changes for the people of the state, as it has a manifesto that entails programmes and plans that are people-oriented and masses friendly."

He noted that the second term jinx in Oyo State, which had not been broken, would soon become history, as the next governor of the state would emerge from among the two former governors and the incumbent.

Earlier, he had chosen Alhaji Sharafadeen Alli as his running mate. The choice, according to him, was based on Ali’s experience in governance, having served at various capacities in the state and garnered the necessary and needed exposure.
