INEC sensitises Anambra staff, pledges credible polls in 2015 and beyond

The Anambra State Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has begun Election Monitoring System (EMS) sensitisation exercise for its senior staff in the state office.

The two-day workshop which kicked off yesterday at the INEC headquarters in Awka was put together for the senior staff members of the commission from salary Grade Level 7 and above.

Declaring the exercise open, the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Prof. Chukwuemeka Onukaogu, said it was organised with the aim of getting it right in 2015 and in subsequent elections in the state.

The REC who was represented by the Administrative Secretary of the Commission, Mr. Oscar Lee-Amechi, advised politicians in the state to play the game according to the rules to avoid creating problems during the election.

He also called on voters who have not collected their permanent voter’s cards (PVC’S) to do so to enable them exercise their civic responsibility during the 2015 general elections.

Furthermore, Onukogu urged staff of the commission not to deviate from INEC activities during the elections and also enjoined them to ensure that voting materials got to every polling unit on time.
