Senator John Akpan Udoedehe, a governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom, has rejected the result of Thursday’s governorship primaries election in the state, describing it as “inconclusive”.
News Express reports that Mr. Umanah Okon Umanah, the immediate past secretary to the state government, was declared winner of the primaries held in Uyo, the state capital.
Udoedehe alleged in an interview today in Uyo that the election was characterised by “open malpractice and irregularities.”
He accused the organisers of the primaries of overlooking the alleged irregularity and denied conceding his position to Umanah Okon Umanah, the acclaimed winner, before the commencement of the primaries.
