Clara Chibuzor Chime, estranged wife of Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State, has joined the race for Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency seat.
Clara, who became a Deputy Director at the National Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) headquarters in Abuja after leaving Government House Enugu earlier this year, is listed as the ninth candidate vying for the House of Representatives ticket on the platform of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Others on the list of cleared aspirants made available to newsmen by the chairman of PDP, Abia State chapter, Senator Emma Nwaka, are Hon. Ngozi R. Emereuwa, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, the incumbent representative who is gunning for a third term, Ndubuisi Ogah Iroetugo and Dr. Ejike Oji, a medical practitioner. The rest are Barr. Ann C.E. Uchendu, Engr. Gladys Ihuoma and Peter Donald Nwakanma.
It was gathered that Clara held a stakeholders meeting last Sunday at Isuochi and used the opportunity to intimate her guests of her intention to go to the House of Representatives to represent the constituency.
Feelers said her entrance into the race was received with wild jubilation.
News Express reports that Governor Chime had locked up Clara in the Government House, claiming that she had a mental problem, but the woman regained her freedom after taking her case to the public.
