Delta State Deputy Governor, Prof. Amos Utuama (SAN), has been cleared by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Screening Committee to contest the Delta State Governorship Primaries slated for December 8.
Prof. Utuama was one of the aspirants screened by the party at its South-South Zonal Secretariat in Port Harcourt.
In his reaction yesterday in Asaba, Delta State capital, Utuama expressed his delight at the development, saying it was a pointer to brighter future for Delta State.
He emphasized that he did not join the governorship race for any personal agenda but rather to provide the needed quality and exemplary leadership that will benefit all Deltans, irrespective of where they come from.
Utuama said: “I joined this race not for any personal gain but with one purpose in mind, and that is to provide quality and exemplary leadership driven by experience, credibility, capability, somebody who is dependable, somebody who is politically sagacious to harness our state’s great potential for the good of all.
“I joined this race to truly provide and care for all Deltans from Anioma to Kwale, from Isoko to Ijaw, and from Itsekiri to Urhobo. I believe I am properly positioned to lead all Deltans to dream and turn those dreams and ensure that the benefits of democracy is truly manifested for the well being of all Deltans.”
