Ogun State Governor, Prince Abiodun
Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on Monday, constituted a committee to probe recruitments and promotions made by his predecessor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, into the state’s civil service.
Tagged “Committee on the Review of Appointments and Promotions in the State Civil Service and Enterprises,” the panel will probe employments and promotions between February 1 and May 29, 2019.
Abiodun, while inaugurating the committee at his office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, expressed his commitment towards repositioning the civil and public service for efficient service delivery for the people.
The committee, headed by a former Head of Service, Dipo Odulate, has Elder Sola Adeyemi, Alhaji Kehinde Ogunfowodu, Chief Jide Oyeti, Alhaji Ambali Isola, Mrs. Moyosore Olowonmi and Mrs. Stanley Olufunmilayo as members while Mr. Nurudeen Oyedele would serve as the Secretary.
Noting that the state’s public service is renowned for its professionalism, commitment and dedication, the governor said it must be provided with the right type of leadership to enable it to perform optimally.
He said the feedback received by his administration on the appointment of some people into positions of responsibility was unsatisfactory, hence the setting up of the committee.
Abiodun said: “Ogun State public service is renowned for its professionalism, commitment and dedication and it occupies an environment let position in the comity of states in the nation.
“This is the state of Simeon Adebo and A. K. Degun. The state has produced giants who laid the foundation of public service in Nigeria.”
The governor, who stated that his administration was determined to build a solid manpower base made up of qualified people, said the committee is to examine and review all appointments and employment into the public service, MDAs and other related matters connected between February 1 and May 29, 2019.
