ACCI President, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, SAN
The Abuja Chamber of Commerce of Industry (ACCI) is celebrating the election of its President, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode SAN, CON, as the National Deputy President ex-officioof the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA).
In a press release made available to journalists in Abuja on August 24, 2019, the ACCI said it welcomes the election of its President in the new capacity of the Organized Private Sector (OPS) movement in Nigeria with great joy.
The chamber said through its Acting Director General, Victoria Akai, that it is convinced that Prince Kayode, who is an instrument for infrastructure development, business network building, mentor, commercial dispute mediator and arbitrator as well as a great manager of human as well as financial resources, will deploy his energy to advance the NACCIMA cause.
“We are delighted to have our President, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, CON., SAN elected into the ex-officio ranking of the OPS movement in Nigeria by NACCIMA. We are particularly pleased because of the antecedents of our President.
“We are proud to have him as President because within a record time, he has deployed his entire time, energy, contacts, personal resources and Midas touch to the development of the Chamber movement and the Nigerian economy. The monumental strides he has achieved at ACCI within a record time has attracted accolades for the ACCI from its peers and other economic actors across the federation.
“Within this short time he moved the chamber from an amorphous organisation to one with functional structures and Centres which are carrying out specialised functions to deliver on the mandate of a chamber of commerce and industry. ACCI has become a point of reference in the West African sub-region. He is simply outstanding. We have absolute confidence in his ability to contribute meaningfully in his new role at NACCIMA.
“The entire ACCI, members, partners, management and staff are thrown into jubilation mood over this election and are willing and ready to give the necessary support to ensure his success on the new role,” she emphasised.
The acting DG also appreciated the NACCIMA National President Hajia Saratu Iya Aliyu, the EXCO and Council for the appointment given to Prince Kayode.
It could be recalled that, NACCIMA announced newly elected National officials duringthe 3rd quarter council meeting on Thursday 22nd August whose names and respective positions are Prince Kayode, named Second Deputy President Ex-officio, Prof. Adesoji Adesugba named as its National Legal Adviser,and Prof. Wahab named as the National Treasurer.
Adetokunbo Kayode is a corporate lawyer, tax expert and international arbitrator.
He has attained the highest rank (Senior Advocate of Nigeria) and the highest honor (Life Bencher) that a lawyer may attain in Nigeria.
In addition, he is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitration, UK; Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Mediators and Conciliators of Nigeria; and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.
He earlier serve on the Boards of the National Associations of Chambers of Commerce, Industry Mines and Agriculture of Nigeria (NACCIMA), Nigeria Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (NAIPA),the D8 Chamber of Commerce and Industry (D8-CCI) in addition to been a the Deputy President of Pan African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PACCI) based in Addis Ababa.
He chairs the Boards of Trustees of NASSI, the National Association of Small Scale Industrialist a d the Nigeria Private Sector Alliance (NIPSA).
He is currently the President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
