The Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) on Thursday alerted the public and Ogonis in particular that it “has no relationship with a certain group known as the Ogoni Liberation Initiative/Ogoni Development Project” which is using its “symbols and logo to deceive the public about an affiliation with MOSOP and extorting monies from them”.
“MOSOP wants to make unequivocally clear that the use of its logo by the Ogoni Development Initiative and the Ogoni Development Project are fraudulent and intended to deceive and will therefore urge the general public to be very mindful these groups,” a statement signed by Secretary Monday Neeka Ziinu said.
It vowed that MOSOP “will take appropriate legal measures to checkmate the activities” of the disowned group.
