Operatives of the Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Police Force in the early hours of Monday nabbed two suspected notorious electric transformer vandals.
The suspects identified as Jude Chibuoke and Chigozie Egwuonwu were nabbed over their alleged involvement in nefarious activities ranging from vandalisation of electric transformer components such as transformer cable uprisers, amongst others, within Udi, Enugu State, and its environs and thereby plunging concerned communities into lack of power supply. They were arrested along Umumba axis of Ezeagu, Enugu State, with the exhibits by the operatives as they were trying to make their way to Onitsha during their routine patrol and stop and search duties and based on credible intelligence gathered.
A statement signed by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ebere Amaraizu, said that the Commissioner of Police, Suleiman Bakarabe, “has directed for a full scale investigations into the unfortunate incident with a view to unmasking more suspects involved in the alleged unwholesome act.” The statement added that the suspects are now helping the operatives in their investigation.”
