Governor Umahi
Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi on Wednesday swore-in the Secretary to Ebonyi State Government (SSG), Dr. Kenneth Ugbala. Ugbala is also the acting commissioner of Border Peace and Internal Security, a position he held till May before the dissolution of the State Executive Council by the State Governor. Ugbala replaced Dr. Hygienus Nwokwu as the SSG.
Umahi also swore-in the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General, Barrister Cletus Ofoke, as well as five Special Assistants and one Senior Special Assistant.
The Governor reappointed and swore-in Dr. Offor Okorie and Dr. Clement Nweke as his Chief of Staff (CoS) and Principal Secretary respectively.
Sir Emmanuel Uzor was reappointed as Umahi’s Chief Press Secretary while Monday Uzor also retained his position as the Press Secretary to the State Deputy Governor, Kelechi Igwe.
Others include: Barr. Joseph Ekummanka as the SSA on Abuja Liaison Office; Saint Nchekwube Anako as SA on Security & Utility in charge of Capital City; Benedict Nwovu is the SA on Security & Utility in charge of Ebonyi North zone.
Nwoba Onyekachi is the SA on Security & Utility in-charge of Ebonyi Central zone and Chika Nwangele the SA on Security & Utility in charge of Ebonyi South zone.
Governor Umahi charged the new members of the State Executive Council to be selfless in the discharge of their official conducts, stressing that his fight against cultism is still intensified.
He added that security reports proved that none of the newly sworn-in members is a member of any secret cult but warned that he would sack anyone discovered to be involved in cultism.
