Sixteen vehicles belonging to Potiskum Local Government area of Yobe State have been impounded following an order of the state High Court of Justice.
The vehicles are being kept at the Secretariat of the Potiskum local government Council pending the determination of the case between the state’s pilgrim board and the Local Government.
Out of the 16 vehicles comprise of 13 mass transit buses and three saloon official cars all belonging to the council.
The court order came as a result of a lingering case of the 2017 hajj fare scandal amounting to N29, 662,775.00 that was allegedly embezzled by the former council Executive Chairman, Mohammed Musa Potiskum.
The scandal led to the suspension of the Chairman by the Yobe State House of Assembly in 2017. (Daily Independent)
