Obagoal has scored again but this time off the soccer pitch. If information from Italy is anything to go by, the out-of-favour Super Eagles striker (real name Obafemi Martins) has planted a seed inside his girl friend, Barwuah Abigail, elder sister of eccentric Italian Mario Balotelli, a Ghanaian by birth but adopted by Italian parents.
Italian magazine Diva e Donna has it that Abigail has been sent on the nine-month course.
“The baby is making its presence felt,” the magazine quotes Abigail as saying. “This is a very special Christmas for me.”
Though Abigail is silent on who planted the seed growing inside of her, indications are that it is none other than 28 years old Martin, who currently plies his trade for Levante of Spain.
Martin, who failed to convince Super Eagles gaffer Stephen Keshi to take him to the forthcoming South Africa 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, had in a recent interview with goal.com rubbished reports that Balotelli, of English Premiership champions Manchester City, is unhappy that he is dating the sister.
“Mario is my boy,” Martins said. “The respect is there because I used to play at Inter, in the youth team with him. He’s giving me my respect and I’m doing same. People are putting it in the news that he’s upset, of course he’s glad.
“He’s glad that Obafemi Martins is dating his sister. But if he gets jealous then it means he doesn’t want his sister to grow. But it’s not like that.”
But while he confirmed dating 24-year-old Abigail, Obagoal, who is presently holidaying in Nigeria, said marriage wasn’t on the cards yet.
“The relationship is true but getting married or not, we haven’t discussed anything like that. She’s upstairs and we’re happy together,” he said.
