Minister of Youth and Sports, Dalung
The leadership of the Progressive Youth Forum (PYF) has condemned the scheduled inauguration of the forth session of the Nigerian Youth Parliament by Solomon Dalung, the outgoing Minister of Youth and Sport Development, warning him and members of the parliament to steer clear of the proposed event.
The official inauguration of the parliament was billed to take place today (Tuesday) in Benin, Edo State, a departure from the usual venue of the event at the National Assembly, Abuja.
The forum, in a statement on Monday in Abuja, by its National Coordinator, Agih Benjamin, condemned the hurriedly way the minister decided to inaugurate the parliament a day to the end of the first term of the present administration.
According to Benjamin, “The leadership of the Progressive Youth Forum (PYF) wishes to use this medium to condemn in its entirety the hurriedly scheduled inauguration of the Forth Session of the Nigerian Youth Parliament, which has been convened by the out-going Minister of Youth and Sport Development, Bar. Solomon Dalung in Benin, Edo State, on Tuesday May 28, 2019.
“This inauguration as presently convened is against the norms of inauguration of the Nigerian Youth Parliament (NYP). (Independent)
