The reappointment of the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, was on Monday applauded by the Coalition of Civil Society Groups (COCSGs).

The National President of COCSGs, Etuk Bassey Williams, and Secretary, Ibrahim Abubakar, expressed their confidence to journalists on the ability of Emefiele to consolidate on efforts by the bank to continue to support the economic policies of the Federal Government.

“The efforts of the CBN Governor and his management to see Nigeria through the recent economic recession is a big testimony that should inspire Nigerians,” Williams stressed.

He further said: “Nigerians must learn to appreciate good efforts of individuals like Emefiele. President Muhammadu Buhari has silenced detractors with the tenure extension due his giant strides which is evident in the growth of Nigerian economy.

“But we want to assure the management of CBN that Nigerians are behind them, and should not be distracted by a few persons who never seek the good of the nation.”
