APC to take over Aso Rock in 2015 —Okorocha

Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors Forum, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has reassured party faithful that APC will win the 2015 presidential election.

Okorocha, who is the Imo State Governor, gave the reassurance while addressing APC Local Government Chairmen from the 36 states in Nigeria gathered in Owerri, the Imo State capital, to celebrate his 52nd birthday.

At the meeting held at the Government House, Owerri, Okorocha stressed the need for APC members to be aggressive in order to flush out the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from power.

Insisting that PDP’s time is over in the history of politics in Nigeria, Okorocha said: “In 2015 APC will be in Aso Rock. We must be aggressive to drag PDP and its members out of Nigeria.”

Okorocha told his guests that he has the capacity to rule Nigeria, declaring that PDP with President Goodluck Jonathan cannot defeat him in the forthcoming general election.

He, however, stated that he will not run unless the masses ask him to run, regretting that his mission in Nigeria has not been actualised as the result of the activities of the elites who denied him several opportunities to serve his people.

Okorcha said that he has fought kidnapping to zero point in Imo State, assuring that if given the opportunity to rule Nigeria, he will fight the activities of the Boko Haram to an end through decentralisation of power to the grassroots.

He said that what inspired him to join politics is his desire to render humanitarian service to the less privileged ones in the society, which made him to introduce free education programme from primary to the tertiary level in the state.

Okorocha noted that he has transformed Imo State with developmental projects and stressed the need for Nigeria to unite as one nation and shun politics of deceit.

He urged APC members to participate in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) voters registration exercise to enable them cast their votes during the 2015 general election.
