Kogi State Governor, Captain Wada Idris (retd.), is taking his hospitalisation in good faith after last Friday’s road accident that left him with a fractured thigh, among other injuries.
In the first public photos of the governor since the accident that happened at Emi Woro Village along Ajaokuta-Lokoja Road, Wada was seen smiling broadly as he received President Goodluck Jonathan, who visited him this afternoon.
The photos showed the governor, dressed in a blue flowing gown, looking happy and at peace as he warmly shook hands with an equally smiling Jonathan, who was dressed in a brown flowing gown with a red cap.
Both leaders exchanged banters, after which Jonathan felt Wada’s legs, cast in a POP, under the watchful eyes of doctors.
In a move quite unlike what obtains among top Nigerian government officials. Governor Wada has directed that he should not be flown abroad as he is satisfied with the treatment he is receiving from a private hospital in Abuja, the Nigerian capital.
While Wada and his driver escaped with injuries, his Aide de Camp (ADC), Idris Mohamed, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, was not so fortunate as he lost his life in the accident.
