Death of Kogi governor’s ADC “an act of God,” says lawyer at burial

The death of remains of ASP Idris Mohammed the Aide-De-Camp (ADC) to Kogi State Governor Captain Wada Idris, who died in last Friday’s auto crash involving the governor’s convoy, was an act of God, according to a relation who is a lawyer by profession.

Speaking shortly after the funeral prayer for ASP Mohammed at Hayin Ojo in Sabon Gari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Barrister Usman Usman told News Express that though the news of Mohammed’s death came as a shock, they had accepted it because “it was an act of God which could not be contested by anybody.”

He described the late Assistant Superintendent of Police as quiet, humble and caring.

The late ADC was buried in his home town, Zaria, Kaduna State in North-Central Nigeria, on Saturday. He was aged 42 and survived by a wife, five children and his aged mother, Hajiya Amina Mohammed.

Late Mohammed was an old boy of Alhudahuda College, Zaria, where he obtained his secondary school certificate before getting a National Diploma from Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria. He later enlisted into the Police Academy for the Cadet Inspectors course.

After his promotion to the rank of ASP Mohammed was posted to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), where he worked with current Chairman, Ibrahim Lamorde, during the latter’s days as the commission’s Head of Operation.

News Express learnt that Mohammed was deployed to work with Governor Wada as his ADC eight months ago. Governor Wada fractured his thigh in the accident which at Emi Woro Village along Ajaokuta-Lokoja Road in Kogi State, is currently receiving treatment in a hospital inthe Nigerian capital, Abuja.
