A hurricane yesterday blew across the Nasarawa State Government House in Lafia, leaving eight commissioners and five other officials jobless.
A statement by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Hajiya Zainab Abdulmumini, conveyed the news of Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura’s sack of the affected officials with immediate effect.
The sacked commissioners are Mr Innocent Lagi (Justice); Mr Angama A. Weibey (Rural and Community Development); Mr Muhammad Yakubu (Education, Science and Technology); Danladi Madaki (Agriculture and Water Resources); and Adamu Mu’azu Alu Adogi (Environment and Natural Resources).
The others are Mr Godwin Tyowua Mbatsav (Sports and Youth Development), Mr Samuel Nkene Meshi (Culture and Tourism), and Mr Amos Bala Akawu (Planning and Deputy Chairman, Nasarawa State Planning Commission).
Hajiya Zainab Abdulmumini in the statement directed all the affected persons to hand over to their permanent secretaries on or before Tuesday, September 23.
