A prominent member of the defunct National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) and popular lawyer, Mr Obele Chuka Obele, has said that he is set to return to active politics, explaining that he is already in touch with some of the political parties in the state.
The human rights activist who, in 1997 during the military era, embarked on a one-man match in Enugu for two days against the military, told newsmen in Awka, Anambra State, that he has decided to play active politics again.
News Express findings confirmed that, already, some political parties, including All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) are believed to be wooing him, because of his ability to mobilise people at the grassroots.
It will be recalled that during the administration of Dr Chinwoke Mbadinuju, the lawyer-activist was vocal in his criticism of the regime, just as he was actively involved in fighting the military junta before the return to democracy in 1999.
Although the legal practitioner has not declared for any political party yet, his close confidant, Mr Charles Obodoezie, said Chuka Obele would make his political intentions known soon.
