Why I want to return as Oyo Governor in 2015 —Akala

Former Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, would on Thursday, September 4, declare his intention to contest the forthcoming 2015 gubernatorial election in the state, under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The former governor, who disclosed this to newsmen in his Amazing Grace Villa, Bodija, Ibadan, said that he would make his intention known at the party secretariat in Ibadan, and would be received at a forum slated for the Watershed Events Centre, Sawmill, Old-Ife Road, Ibadan.

He gave reasons why his reelection as the state's governor was significant, given his past and present landmark achievements.

“My decision to contest is in response to popular demand and calls from party members, farmers, traders, students, civil society groups, artisans, civil servants and vast majority of the people of the state who are yearning for my return to government in 2015, due to my outstanding achievements when I served them some years ago,” he reasoned, adding:

“We need the cooperation of our supporters, because we would hold a march in the capital on Thursday morning before moving to the venue for proper declaration. I believe, with your love, we will not fail and we shall together move this state to the next enviable height.”
