Delta Perm Sec Eddy Ogidi-Gbegbaje
The Delta State Permanent Secretary, Directorate of Government House and Protocol, Mr. Eddy Ogidi-Gbegbaje, has urged youths to use their skills positively for the development of the nation.
Mr. Ogidi-Gbegbaje gave the advice on Wednesday during a send forth party in honour of the 28 corps members of the NYSC 2018 Batch A Stream 1 who served in the Directorate in Asaba.
He called on the youths to shun all forms of social vices and embrace positive skills for the benefit of the society, stressing: “Despite the economic recession, you must face life squarely. You need to keep yourself busy, learn more skills, further your education, shun anti-social vices, eschew criminal activities and ensure that whatever you do will have positive impact on your life.
“I urge you to take the part of transparency, fear of God, hard work and honesty while shying away from get-rich-quick syndrome and social vices. The NYSC scheme has given you the necessary tools that will equip you as you go into the world to start up your lives and leave a positive mark on the state, nation and the world.”
While congratulating the corps members on their successful service year, Mr. Ogidi-Gbegbaje urged them to be good ambassadors of the state, charging them to remain positive, maintain good friendships and strive to be creators of wealth rather than job seekers from government.
Responding on behalf of the corps members, Mr. Akuegbonwu Chikwendu, thanked the Permanent Secretary and staff of the Directorate for their enviable contribution to the success of their service, promising that they will remain good ambassadors of the state and the nation.
