Biafra supporters
The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has condemned the attack on Ndigbo in Lagos State, warning that it would no longer tolerate such barbaric and uncivilised action against Ndigbo again in any part of Nigeria.
The MASSOB National Director on information, Comr. Edeson Samuel, stated this in a statement on Tuesday in Enugu.
It described the attack as unfortunate, noting that the people they had thought share the same political predicament with Ndigbo in Nigeria have turned against them in Lagos.
“The attack on Ndigbo in Lagos because they exercised their civic rights is irresponsible, insensitive and should be condemned.
“MASSOB blamed this politically and tribally sponsored attack on Ndigbo in Lagos on … and his APC political thugs. MASSOB reminds Ndigbo in Lagos to be vigilant and defend themselves with every material resource available to them.
“The order by the leader of OPC (MC Olu Omo) in Oshodi area that all the shops own by Ndigbo must remain closed is a clear attempt to intimidate Igbo traders in Oshodi and other areas of Lagos State. Although the leadership of the Afenifere has condemned the attack on Ndigbo, the attack is still going on without its intervention.
“MASSOB has never disrupted any Yoruba person or attack their business in Biafra land. We shall no longer allow aggressive attack on our people again. We developed Lagos; we can’t be pushed away anymore in Lagos. MASSOB is also advising Ndigbo where ever they are to always be security conscious and to defend themselves. Why must Ndigbo be attack before, during and after elections in Nigeria?
“In 2015, Yoruba through their traditional ruler threatened that Ndigbo must vote for APC or they would be driven into the lagoon. Since Yoruba leaders are keeping quiet over this tribal war against Ndigbo, we should not be blamed for any devastating calamity that will befall Lagos,” they warned.
