Defeated Senatorial Candidate, Dr Uduaghan
The senatorial dream of immediate past governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has crashed like a pack of cards following the landslide victory of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in last Saturday’s National Assembly elections.
PDP, the ruling party in Delta State, comprehensively beat Uduaghan’s All Progressives Congress (APC), winning all but one of the eight local government areas in the senatorial zone. APC won only in Warri South, where it got APC 17,689 votes as against PDP’s 15,132 votes.
Overall, PDP garnered 258,812 votes – more than double of the 125,776 votes by APC, which lost by a whopping 133,036 votes, thus clearing the way for veteran Senator James Manager to return to the Red Chambers in Abuja, the Nigerian capital.
