Results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abia State indicate that the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, is headed for victory in the state.
Of the 13 local governments so far declared by INEC, Atiku defeated the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), President Muhammadu Buhari, in 12 local government areas while Buhari won in two. Results from the remaining four local governments are still being awaited.
