IPOB Spokesperson, Comrade Emma Powerful
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has described February 16, 2019, slated for the presidential election as a rare and golden opportunity to make an everlasting impression on the world stage that Biafrans are prepared to sacrifice everything worth sacrificing, including the position of Nigeria’s vice presidential slot.
The ethnic nationality group said that the date, which has been set aside as a day for Biafra Referendum, will also be used to prove to humanity that it values freedom more than any earthly or material consideration.
A statement on Wednesday by IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful, said that the group’s quest for Biafra has gone beyond the point of no return.
The statement reads in part: “In order to live as free men under God in a new Republic of Biafra, we must not only stay indoors on February 16, 2019, we must ensure that Biafraland is completely locked down.
“Anybody or family found outside on election day will perpetually suffer the ignominy of being labelled a traitor. A burden that the person’s family will bear for eternity. Such person or persons would be seen as supporting one Nigeria and responsible for the continued suffering, kidnapping, abduction, killing, massacre and total marginalisation of our people.
“We are mindful that Nigeria is one giant fraudulent cave where ethnic nationalities are held down in bondage in an unworkable artificially created purgatory. We are therefore cautioning every hungry Fulani slave across Biafraland and their new recruits who intend to come out on that day, to quickly retrace their steps, because IPOB will not take lightly any attempt by these shameless quislings to scuttle this hard-fought battle to set the people free.
“It doesn’t matter who you are or what position you think you occupy in society, once you support Nigeria by coming out to vote, you become an enemy of the people.”
IPOB insisted that coming out to vote will further validate repeated refusal by Federal Government of Nigeria to site any capital projects in Biafraland.
The statement added: “You will be the reason why this Fulanised APC (All Progressives Congress) government had the temerity to bring Operation Python Dance to our land, whereas Fulani herdsmen, who are busy slaughtering innocent souls, are given preferential treatment and army protection.
“Stepping outside on February 16 (to participate in the presidential election) will mean that Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, Enugu-Igweocha Expressway and Second Niger Bridge will never be built. You will be the reason why all seaports and airports in Biafraland will never function. You will be the reason why high cut-off mark discriminates against our gifted children while northern kids make it to Unity Schools with little or no score at all.
“Those who all their lives have been colluding with Fulani caliphate to enslave our people are at it again by campaigning for the same people that are responsible for our misery.
“How easily have we forgotten how these same terrorists killed Ken Saro-Wiwa, Gideon Akaluka, Isaac Adaka Boro, Harry Marshall and attempted to assassinate our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu?
“Have we forgotten the countless victims of Operation Python Dance and Nkpor massacre before it? Those contemplating going out on February 16 must be guided by these facts. Chief Justice Walter Onnoghen has been unceremoniously sacked and replaced by a Sharia Judge but still, some people are talking about voting. Only Biafra can set South East and South South free not by voting in another Fulani man into Aso Rock.”
The group accused the northern political oligarchy of destroying Odi community in Bayelsa State through (former President Olusegun) Obasanjo with no compensation or restitution, adding that pollution and oil spillage still blights Ogoni land and other communities in Biafraland without commendation.
Continuing, the statement said: “When this despotic Fulani-dominated APC regime removed Mathew Seiyefa from South-South as Director-General of the Department of State Security (DSS) and replaced him with a Fulani man, everybody kept quiet after a few days of usual noise-making.
“That silence in the face of evil was what gave the cabal the impetus to remove Onnoghen. We are confident that in the next few days the whole brouhaha about Onnoghen’s removal will die down in the name of ‘let us move the country forward’. Evil will always beget evil in Nigeria but sadly people never learn.
“The option facing us is a very simple one: ‘support Biafra freedom by sitting at home on February 16 or go out to vote to revalidate your slave status in Nigeria’. The choice is yours.”
