The Delta State Government has disowned a scam website which purports to empower people in the name of the State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, after payment of an amount of money.

A statement signed by the State Commissioner for Information, Chief Patrick Ukah, made it clear that “the website, https://okowaagain2019.online/register.php, is the handiwork of evil-minded person or persons who are bent on defrauding unsuspecting members of the public.”

The statement issued on Friday morning in Asaba categorically said that “the State Government has no connection, either directly or indirectly, with the website.”

Chief Ukah advised members of the public “to be wary of unscrupulous Nigerians whose stock in trade is to swindle people of their hard-earned money.”
