Former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has lost his teenage son, Hamza el-Rufai.
The younger el-Rufai died this morning in a motor accident in the Nigerian capital, Abuja, where the family lives.
His father wrote late this morning on his Facebook wall: “From Allah we came and to Him we shall return. Please join our family in praying for the repose of the soul of my son Hamza el-Rufai who died this morning in a motor accident in Abuja.”
News Express reports that this is the second time in seven months that el-Rufai has been thrown into mourning. He had lost five dear ones in the wee hours of December 22, 2013 after the car in which they were travelling ha an accident along Abuja express road. The victims were Ibrahim El-Rufai, his nephew Lawal and three of their friends.
El-Rufai had been celebrating the graduation of another son only six days ago when he posted the photo of Mouftahul-Khair Kolawole Lawal andhis elder sister Maryam Lawal, accompanied by the following comment: “Another son graduates with Upper Second Class degree from King’s College, London....congratulations to Mouftahul-Khair Kolawole Lawal.....in the picture is his elder sister the brilliant Maryam Lawal. Alhamdulillah for wonderful children.”
