A traditional ruler with the Katsina state emirate council and who is equally The Ward Head of Zandam village in Jibia Local government, Babangida Lawal has been kidnapped last night, Daily Trust Reports.

Thetraditional ruler was picked alongside a businessman in the village, Murtala Rabe according to sources in the village.

Thekidnappers stormed the village in the night broke into their respective homes and whisked them away. Some residents who tried to rescue the victims were severely injured in the process.

No ransom has so far been placed on them by the abductors. It was further learnt that in the next neighbouring village of Gurbi Magarya, some cows were rustled away by the bandits.

When contacted the spokesman of Katsina state police command SP Gambo Isah confirmed the incidence noting that” police are making effort to rescue them.” ‎
