Hundreds of former and current political appointees in Delta State on Saturday sent a loud and clear message to the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Chief Great Ogboru.

“Delta State is going in the right direction and the people recognise that and they like the plan of the incumbent governor and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, for the future,” the appointees said.

They spoke about Governor Okowa’s impressive credentials, particularly his qualities, numerous achievements and his consistency in standing up always on the side of the people and justice.

The forum at a meeting in Sapele commended Okowa for bringing fiscal discipline, a reform minded approach to governing.

“Governor Ifeanyi Okowa deserves credit and thanks for his civil and respectful approach to governing. The APC gubernatorial flag bearer is an outsider. He lacks the necessary vision, training and experience to fix the state’s most pressing problems,” the forum said in a statement issued on Saturday by the spokesperson, Jubilee Akufu.

The forum praised the governor “for his transparency, prudent stewardship of the taxpayer’s money and effective management of public resources.”

It hailed Governor Okowa “for fixing roads, bettering the public school system, making health care more available, improving the airport and showing the rest of the country what development looks like.”

“Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is a beacon of hope. He must be encouraged to complete the work he has started,” the statement said.

It praised Okowa “for bringing exceptional leadership to governance, improving the state’s business climate, building strong communities and strengthening the economy.”

“There is no alternative to PDP in Delta State. Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is running on his commitment to health care, education, human capacity building, security, infrastructure and economic development,” the forum said.
