The All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA) has said that it was targeting eight governorship victories across the country in this year’s general elections.

Ebonyi State Chairman of the party, Chief Nikky Okorouka, disclosed this in Abakaliki on Wednesday while briefing newsmen on the party’s preparedness ahead of the elections.

Okorouka noted that the party has fortified its structures to actualize the target and listed some of the states APGA is looking forward to capture in the governorship elections to include; Abia, Enugu and Imo.

While dismissing the insinuation in some quarters that the party was working for incumbent Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Dave Umahi by not having governorship candidate for the 2019 elections, Okorouka said the party could not field governorship candidate in the state as N10 million nomination form fee scared aspirants away.

He said “we held our primaries in accordance with INEC guidelines which were conducted in our party secretariat along Enugu/Abakaliki highway. We have candidates for various offices in Ebonyi State ranging from House of Assembly to senate but we did not field governorship candidate because nobody contested for it and we don’t know the reason.”

“Most of the people that indicated interest for the governorship position when they ask for the price of the nomination form which was N10million, some of them said it was too much and they don’t have that kind money.
