Members of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly this morning impeached their Speaker, Hon. Chukwuma Nwazunku.
The act was carried out by 18 out of the 24 members of the House, who also lifted the impeachment of the three members of the House on suspension.
The three beneficiaries are Frank Onwe, Eni Uduma Chima and Deputy Speaker, Blaise Orji.
Reports indicated that Hon. Frank Onwe moved the motion for the Speaker’s impeachment which was seconded by the minority leader, Enyi C. Enyi.
Hon. Eni Uduma Chima representing Afikpo South West went further to move the motion for the election of Helen Nwaobasi representing Abakaliki South State Constituency as the new Speaker.
