The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Bauchi State Chapter, has condoled the National President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Comrade Bello Bala Shagari, on the death, last week Friday, of his grandfather, Alhaji Shehu Aliyu Shagari, the first Executive President of Nigeria.

A statement issued by the chapter’s Secretary General, Comrade Kassim A. Gamawa, on behalf of the Honourable Chairman, Comrade Umar Lauya, his executives and members described Shagari’s death as a great loss “not only for Nigeria but for the entire globe because Alh. Shehu Shagari was a gentleman of highest distinction; he was known as a man of principle and integrity, he was therefore among the very finest politicians that played the game of politics by its rules. In fact, his death has left a huge vacuum that cannot be exactly refilled.”

“However, we will forever cherish his gallant inputs and legacies for us in all ramifications and his name will be written in the sand of time,” the statement issued on Tuesday in Bauchi said.
