The decampees comprised offormer notablemembers of the PDP including a former Special Adviser toGovernor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal , as well as a former Chairmanof Silame Local Government, Alhaji Abubakar Chika Umar Dantama., former State House of Assembly Aspirants ofthe Party in 2015, as well as several other officials .

Speaking at the ceremony, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko,who represents Sokoto NorthSenatorial District,welcomed the new entrants into theParty and assured them of equal treatment.

Wamakko further disclosed that, morebigwigs of the PDP had since decamped to the APC, explaining that,they would soonbe officially received into thefold of the party.

Heaverred that, the ongoing intimidation of the workers who havepitched their loyalty with the APC by the PDP-led Sokoto StateGovernment was not plausible.

He said, “no amount of intimidation woulddeter the people of the state from massively loving andsupporting the party and all its candidates,at all levels.

“Moreover, in a matter of weeks, the APCwill take over the state, while President Muhammadu Buhari, including all the party’s candidates,at all levels ,would be massively voted by Nigerians.”

Senator Wamakko also extended the warmestgreetings of President Muhammadu Buhari to the good people of the state, saying, ” he will soon visit the state,with a view to extend same to the people of the state”.

Also speaking,the former Deputy Governor andAPC Gubernatorial Candidate,Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu,said “all the PDP members who initially went astrayhad now came back to the right path.”

He congratulated them for joining the party tobeat, and assured them of equal treatment, even as hepromised to strive to emulate Senator Wamakko,when eventually elected, In Sha Allahu.

Also speaking,the Director -General of theState APC Campaign Council , Alhaji Yusuf Suleiman,former Minister of Transport , commended Senator Wamakko forproviding credible and worthy leadership to the partyand its members in the state , as well as being apatriotic national chieftain of the party.

Spokespersons of the defectors, Alhaji AbubakarChika Umar Dantama and Honourable Murtala Hassan, said that they joined the party sequel to the justice andfairness that abound in the APC.

They also promised to assiduously work toensure the success of the party’s candidates, at alllevels, during the forthcoming general elections .
