A coalition of 34 youths and students bodies in Ogun State, Tripple A Youths and Students Campaign Organization (TRAYSCO), rooting for the gubernatorial candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Hon Abdulkabir Adekunle Akinlade, has given reasons why it is working toward the realisation the aspiration of the candidate come 2019.

In a statement by its Director General, Olusegun Clement, the group said: “As progressive-minded Ogun State youths and students, we have carefully studied the political activities in the state as it unfolds and cannot at this point allow entities addicted to misrule and impunity to take over the government and governance of our beloved state considering the level of ongoing developments in the State, hence the need for us as leaders of tomorrow and partners in progress for a better today, to make our position known.

“Based on the injustice of Comr. Adams Oshiomhole, National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) against our own Comrade Adekunle Akinlade, TRAYSCO has decided to fully mobilise, support and vote for Adekunle Akinlade as Ogun State Governor under the platform of APM and President Muhammadu Buhari based on the following reasons among several others:

“The need to sustain the mission to rebuild Ogun State in the areas of people's welfare, education, healthcare and social services which, we have no doubt that it would be enhanced by Adekunle Akinlade in Ogun State and Buhari at the federal level.

“As a youthful candidate in his 40s, we have no doubt that Adekunle Akinlade’s government will revive tertiary institutions, sports activities and grassroots sports, through the sports ministry as massive investment will be made to that sector so as to produce more of the likes of Segun Odegbami, Anthony Joshua among several other proud sons and daughters of Ogun State who have who have made the state proud before the world.”

Highlighting areas of importance, TRAYSCO said: “Youth employment/ empowerment: Adekunle Akinlade has promised to engage Ogun youths in terms of providing jobs employment and empowerment especially through the large numbers of companies coming into the state as an investment destination of choice.

“As a visionary leader and Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) expert, Adekunle Akinlade has promised not to relent in the (payment) of salaries of Ogun workers, pensions, gratuities and deductions. Ogun State has under the administration of Senator Ibikunle Amosun become the destination of choice and the industrial hub of Nigeria. The records have confirmed that Ogun State is playing host to over 180 companies which have invested between $200 million and $2 billion, meaning it will not be a problem for Akinlade Adekunle to pay salaries.

On special welfare package for the workers, the group said that Akinlade has promised to put in place special package for special people in Ogun State as the government shall be engaging them in the areas of skill acquisition and empowerment we have no doubt that this will greatly reduce the number of people with disabilities begging for alms across the state.

“TRAYSCO is absolutely aware of recent happenings in the political terrain of Ogun state, about some enemies of progress who have sought to truncate peaceful transition in Ogun State and the consolidation of the gains of the past seven and half years of Governor Amosun and three and half years of President Buhari.

“We have unanimously resolved to strongly mobilise, support and vote President Muhammadu Buhari, and Hon. Adekunle Akinlade as Governor of Ogun state under APM come 2019. We are happy to be supporting a strong believer in the development of Ogun state, a believer in the great potentials that abound in our state, not only in terms of our natural resources but also in the aspect of immense human resources that abound in the state, a man willing to give his best in terms of commitment, dedication and selfless service to humanity in a bid sustain the mission to rebuild Ogun State.”
