Ten more opposition political parties, Monday, joined about 45 others operating under the aegis of Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP, to work together towards removing President Muhammadu Buhari and his All Progressives Congress-led government in next year’s general election.
This came as CUPP announced that six more political parties had tendered applications to join the grand alliance.
The action of the ten new parties came barely one week after the 45 political parties signed the path to work together. Former governor of Osun State, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, who read a prepared speech at the event which took place at the Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja, asked President Buhari and the APC to immediately throw in the towel before he is disgraced at the poll.
According to him, developments in the country were clear indications that Buhari and the APC were not prepared for leadership. Some of the ten new entrants in the opposition grand alliance are Save Nigeria Congress, SNC; United Patriots, UP; Reformed and Advancement Party, RAP; Alliance for Social Democrats, ASD; We the People Nigeria, WPP among others.
