The Benue State Tricycle Operators Association has endorsed Governor Samuel Ortom for a second term in office.

The chairman of the association in the state, Mr Bernard Urban, led hundreds of members for the endorsement and solidarity rally to the government house on Friday.

According to the group, the implementation of several projects, as well as the law banning open grazing in the state are some of the reasons it is seeking the re-election of the governor.

In response, Ortom recounted how he started life as a bus conductor before he became a governor years later while directing the state Microfinance bank to facilitate a credit scheme to enable members conveniently purchase their own tricycles.

He thanked the group for their support and promised that he will continue to ensure the welfare of workers as well as residents of the state.

Running against the governor on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is the Managing Director of the Nigerian Export Processing Zones Authority,Emmanuel Jime.
