It appeared like a drama when three members of the House of Representatives members dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and moved to the opposition parties.
The lawmakers during the plenary session on Thursday announced their resignations in separate letters to the green chamber, which were read on the floor of the house by the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara.
The three Reps are: Adekunle Akinlade, representing Egbado South/Ipokia Federal Constituency in Ogun; Mr Salish Koko, representing Maiyama/Koko-Besse Federal Constituency in Kebbi, dumped the APC and headed for the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Rabiu Kaugama who represents Mallam Madori/Kaugama Federal Constituency of Jigawa left for the SDP.
Citing what prompted their defections, the lawmakers made references to irreconcilable issues relating to the party primaries.
They also said they had already made l due consultations with their constituents before they took the decision.
News Express reports that a gale of defections has hit the lower chamber of the National Assembly as aggrieved members of the APC could not get their parties’ tickets for the 2019 elections.
