APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole
The convener of the Imo All Progressives Congress (APC) Reformation Coalition, Dr. Theodore Ekechi, on Tuesday said they have been vindicated by the war of words between Imo governor, Rochas Okorocha, and the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
Ekechi, who disclosed this to journalists in Owerri in the aftermath of the altercation between the two party men, said the chairman failed to heed their earlier advice on his romance with the governor, saying that had Oshiomhole hearkened to them, the crises in the party over the governorship primary election would not have degenerated badly.
Ekechi blamed Oshiomhole for the whole brouhaha when he voided the results of the Ahmed Gulak-led electoral panel.
“When Adams Oshiomhole, on assumption of office as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) resorted to a ‘shaku-shaku dance’ romance with Governor Rochas Okorocha who claimed he installed him, we warned the chairman that his new found love would lead to his self-destruction and erode all his life-earned reputation.
“We alerted the party that the much-taunted ‘Rochas-factor’ in Oshiomhole election as the National Chairman was a ‘mammy water’ gift that was bound to set the chairman against the party, and therefore breed unparallel acrimony and animosity. How right we were!
“When we raised the alarm not a few Nigerians, though, saw what we saw. With unfettered access to Imo funds, Okorocha unleashed an unprecedented, unceasing campaign of calumny against the Coalition that saw, through the tied hands of Oshiomhole, the voiding of our hard earned, people’s mandate congresses.
“As far as we concerned, Oshiomhole was the victim and not the Imo coalition – because it was him who was diminished in the estimation of the nation.
