A House of Representatives candidate for Obingwa, Osisioma, and Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency of Abia State, Barr. Ugochukwu Jesse Nwaenyo, has advocated what he describes as “dismantling the old order” as the panacea to the country’s political woes.

Nwaenyo, who is running under the platform of United Progressives Party (UPP), posited that unless the old brigade is shown the exit door in Nigerian politics, “there is no hope for the nation”.

According to him, “It has become a vicious circle. The names you have been hearing for scores of decades now are the same names that keep recycling. So where lies the hope of the nation if we continue fielding the same team that has achieved no results over the years?”

Continuing, he said: “In the sports world, what team handlers do is to retire players if they are aging are no longer produce results. Such players give way to younger players whose inputs are instantly felt.

“But in Nigeria, it is a different ball game. We continue to feature old and spent horses and hope to achieve results. It is obvious that we cannot achieve results with this mentality.”

Nwaenyo therefore appealed to Nigerians to utilise the opportunity provided by the 2019 elections to cause revolution in our body polity by voting in young men with ideas to move the country forward.
