The Edo Office of Digital Communications and Public Engagement, Edo DigiComms, has commiserated with the Anenih family and the government and people of Edo State, over the passing of the former Minister of Works, Chief Tony Anenih.

In a statement signed by the group’s Director of Media and Communication Strategy, Ogochukwu Isioma, Edo DigiComms described the late Anenih as an astute politician who contributed immensely to the development of Nigeria’s democracy.

According to him, “The late Chief Tony Anenih was in a class of his own as he was almost unsurpassed in political strategy for decades.

“He was a political colossus, an egalitarian Nigerian, a depository of political wisdom, a library of contemporary Nigerian political history, a foremost elder statesman versed in tactics, and a self-made man.

“Anenih was an astute politician and master strategist who played several defining roles, and contributed immensely to the development of Nigeria’s democracy.

“Indeed, the whole of Edo state and the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has suffered a great loss with the death of Chief Anenih.

“He will be remembered as a patriotic Nigerian who devoted his time to the development of the state and the country, Nigeria in the various capacities he served while he was still alive.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss, and pray that the good Lord grants the bereaved the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, the PDP, and the government and people of Edo State.

“The Edo DigiComms therefore condoles with them and pray that God will grant the deceased eternal rest.”
