NYSC members
Graduates from Benue State University and some institutions were not mobilised for the 2018 Batch C due to their activities on the portal system which were fraudulent.
The Director of ICT, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs Christy Mba, said this while speaking to journalists during the swearing in of the 2018 Batch C Corps Members in the Federal Capital Territory.
She sometime in August, before the scheme commenced the 2018 batch B stream 2 mobilisation, the scheme ran a check on the system and discovered that some universities were manipulating the matriculation numbers and year of graduations of their students to get them mobilised for the one year programme.
She said the scheme discovered that some of the graduates who were found wanting were due for exemption rather than partake in the service.
She noted that some of the universities found culpable, were blocked from uploading data for 2018 Batch C which was what affected the Benue State University graduates.
Prospective corps members across Benue State had on October 17 protested not having access to the portal of the NYSC to register for the 2018 Batch C youth service programme.
