The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), South West zone, on Sunday, said the inability of President Muhammadu Buhari to present his academic credentials to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), attested to his poor, terrible and abysmal leadership.
This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the Zonal Publicity Director of the party, Mr Ayo Fadaka, who noted that President Buhari also failed to tender his certificate in 2014 when he was in the opposition party and called on the President to provide his certificate.
According to Fadaka, President Buhari gave the same excuse in 2014 for not tendering his certificate but said the President as the Commander in Chief, is in a position to order the Army to release his certificates to him.
The statement read “We give due to the notice of the fact that President Muhammadu Buhari has again failed to tender his certificates to INEC for screening, this is on the heels of the fact that all other Presidential candidates have submitted their credentials to INEC.
“We also recall that in 2014, President Buhari gave this same excuse when he failed to tender his certificates, then he was an opposition candidate, we, however, believe that since he is now President and Commander in Chief, he is in a position to order the Army to release his certificates to him, more so, many decades after he retired from the Army.
“The persistent failure of Buhari to avail Nigerians of his educational credentials is indeed a source of worry, while we readily agree that he went through formal education, we are however inclined to believe that he never made a success out of studying, therefore was a very bad student.
“This explains why he has consistently given poor and abysmal leadership to the nation in these unfortunate years we have been under his stewardship.”
The party, however, called on Nigerians “to take note that President Buhari by his failure to present these certificates continues to stylishly attest to the fact that he has failed through school.
“We today pay for an inexcusable understanding of Nigerians in 2015 when they sarcastically said “Nepa” certificate is enough for Buhari, years after, we now pay for our callous understanding as institutions continue to fail in our nation and hardship is the order of the day under Buhari.
“We, however, wish to remind Nigerians that we now possess another opportunity to make a change and a rejection of “certificateless” Buhari represents our common desire to rescue our nation from mediocrity, incompetence and lethargy.”
