The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Anambra State has released names of candidates flying the flag of various political parties filing out for next year’s National Assembly election.
The names published by INEC were submitted to the commission by their political parties in line with Section 31 Sub Section 3 of the Electoral Act.
The candidates who made the list of the three frontline political parties in the state are Senator Uche Ekwunife (APC), incumbent Senator Victor Umeh (APGA), and Mr. Charles Odunukwe (PDP) for Anambra Central Senatorial District.
In Anambra South, the candidates are Mr. Nicholas Ukachukwu (APGA), incumbent Senator Andy Uba (APC), and his younger brother and PDP BOT member, Chief Chris Uba.
For Anambra North Senatorial Zone, it is Prince Chinedu Emeka (APGA), Senator Margery Okadigbo (APC), and Senator Stella Oduah (PDP).
Addressing journalists after publishing the names, the Head of Department, Voter Education and Publicity, Mr. Leo Ikedife, said that the comprehensive list of candidates for 2019 House of Representatives and Presidential elections would be published later on Friday while that of the state House of Assembly election will be released to the public on November 2, 2018.
