MASSOB, BIM declare war on APGA over Bianca Ojukwu

The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and Biafra Independent Movement (BIM) have warned the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to stop using the picture of the late Ikemba Odimegwu Ojukwu on their campaign materials or face their wrath.

The groups have been up in arms with APGA for denying the widow of Ojukwu, Bianca, the senatorial ticket for Anambra South.

The movements said that events of the past few weeks had shown that APGA had deviated from the ideals for which Ojukwu founded the party.

They also asked APGA to allow the spirit of the late Ojukwu to rest in peace.

Addressing journalists in Owerri, Imo state, their spokesman, Samuel Njoku, berated APGA for failing to give Ojukwu’s wife the ticket.

He said “We want to passionately appeal to APGA to stop ridiculing the name of our late leader, Emeka Ojukwu. APGA should allow Ojukwu’s spirit to rest in peace. They should stop using Ojukwu’s photographs and names for political campaigns.”

“We want to urge Ndigbo to avoid APGA during the 2019 general elections. They should not vote for any candidate in APGA. APGA is no longer an Igbo party. Ndigbo should make sure that the political businessmen in APGA stop using APGA to insult Igbo people.”

“We don’t want any Igbo person to talk about APGA again. APGA is no longer a political party and it is not for the Igbo people. APGA was the one that brought out Bianca and they also ridiculed her and that is a big insult to the Igbo race.”

They wondered why APGA’s former national chairman, Victor Umeh, was given automatic ticket while Bianca was not.
