Fayemi vows to probe Fayose

Governor Fayemi

The newly sworn-in Ekiti state governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has vowed to probe his predecessor, Mr. Ayo Fayose, over the N170 billion loans the last administration incurred to undertake some projects in the state.

He disclosed this today after he was sworn-in by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Ayodeji Daramola at exactly 12.17pm amid cheers from admirers and party members.

Fayemi said his government would work hard to bring succour to the populace, by removing the cankerworm of corruption that has eaten deep into the state’s fabrics under the PDP-led government of Governor Ayodele Fayose.

He said his second coming was not to seek vengeance or vindictive but to ensure that the culture of prudence and financial propriety are brought to bear in governance of the state.

Fayemi lamented that the state is indebted to the tune of N170 billion being loans taken to undertake some projects by the last administration but assured that this won’t impede his government from delivering dividends of democracy to the citizens.
