The Publicity Secretary of the Movement for the Survival of Ogoni People (MOSOP), Fegalo Nsuke, has survived an assassination attempt on in Bori, Ogoniland.

The assassination attempt took place last Sunday, October 7, 2018, the Ogoni Activists Forum said Saturday in a statement made available to News Express.

The forum “condemned in strongest terms” the assassination attempt, a statement on behalf of the group signed by former chairman of the MOSOP Kingdom Coordinators Forum, Frank Jonah, describing the act as “despicable and condemnable”.

The group repeated its call for the resignation of embattled MOSOP President, Legborsi Saro Pyagbara, whose tenure is said to have since ended.

“We therefore ask for the immediate resignation of Legborsi Saro Pyagbara as he has sufficiently constituted himself into a security threat and also an embarrassment to the Ogoni nationality,” the statement said.

Nsuke is presently recuperating from the attack.
