Former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State, Mr. Oseloka Obaze, has declared that his bosom friend and former boss, Ex-Governor Peter Obi, will make an excellent Vice President, describing him as the most suitable candidate for the vice president slot of PDP.

In a statement made available to journalists in Awka, Obaze, a retired diplomat, described Obi, who today emerged as the running mate of Presidential Candidate Atiku Abubakar, as the best among those considered for the job.

He explained that apart from economically managing Anambra State adequately for eight years, Obi has frugality, global world view, experience, and, above all, is still a youth.

Obaze added that Obi has acceptability and limited baggage, unlike most politicians.

The statement said: “Many southeastern Nigerians are prima facie qualified to team with Atiku Abubakar as VP on the Official Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Nigeria ticket.

“The required criteria are vast: of the lot, Peter Obi meets the critical set – experience, youth, global world view, frugality, economic management, acceptability and limited political baggage.

“In terms of strategic succession planning, he fits the bill. He has my unalloyed support.”
