All-night rain displaces Lagosians from their homes

All all-night night has seen thousands of Lagosians being ejected from their homes and forced to sleep either in the open or with kind neighbours.

“My family and I have been out there since the rain started,” said one distraught father to Transport & Business Express. “My whole apartment has been submerged by flood,” he lamented.

The man and his family live in the Omole area of Ikeja, which is not among the popular flood zones in Lagos.

The rain started around midnight and is still on-going. It is perhaps an indication of the fate that awaits many Lagosians ahead of the seven-day rain predicted by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET).
